Objectives

The objective of this project was to engage and empower young people to become active citizens, connect them to European values as well as to help them acquire and develop competencies for life and their professional future. In addition, the main goals of the project were to develop the attitudes and skills of young people in the job research, to familiarize participants with the job opportunities in terms of their personal qualities and skills, to boost their ability to self-presentation during the interviews with potential employers, to strengthen European values and breaking down prejudices and stereotypes utilizing team activities. The youth exchange project provided an environment for the participants to develop all eight competencies as indicated in the YouthPass Certificate. During the planning of the everyday activities for the volunteer’s timetable we were considering these competencies, thus ensuring the learning process at all times, not only connected to the final evaluation. We gave our volunteers the freedom to choose their methods of conducting the workshops by encouraging their creativity and eventually the results were positively evaluated by the participants of E.Y.E. The work methodologies were based on NFE. As the majority of participants were young unemployed people the main aim of the exchange was to equip the youngsters to the challenges that they might face during all milestones of job searching and job placement. Implementation of this project was aimed to promote fundamental European values such as respect for human dignity, equality, human rights, tolerance and nondiscrimination but also helped to the participants obtain important knowledge and practical skills which are listed below. During the mobility youngsters were required to carry out a series of tasks that enhanced participants’ digital competencies (learning basic knowledge of filmmaking, graphic design, and social media - using the skills while working on the web search and online reputation workshop, writing marketing content and job and Company descriptions, creating videos, taking pictures, creating leaflets and brochures). Another important goal which was targeted mostly at the youngest category of the participants was to show them the importance of learning new things: having the necessary scientific background to undertake any social projects with some basics of psychology, sociology, anthropology, and economics through theory classes, how to deal with the self-understanding and comprehension of the personal growth in the project, support each other in the implementation of the activities and the daily life, trying to share their competences and problem-solving abilities. The activities programmed for the project were aimed at developing such qualities as initiative and entrepreneurial (how to use creativity as an important tool to train their spirit of initiative in developing new ideas and projects); at improving participants’ soft skills like leadership, social and communication abilities (by participating in the programmed activities before, during and after the project); at increasing the number of participants' instruments to find a job and to create it with a social purpose (by working on their Europass CVs and motivational letters and simulating a job interview).
