Objectives

“Planting green INITIATIVES” has been a youth exchange that aimed to examine the current situation of young people and opportunities they can find in entrepreneurship. We identified that the needs of young people in the regions of the partnership included new economic and job perspectives, a more eco-sustainable form of economy and lifestyle, and confidence to be an active part in their lives. On the basis of those premises, this youth exchange focused on the toeco-social entrepreneurship and how to create opportunities and initiatives while offering an added value for society. This project aimed to offer opportunities in a moment in which the socio-economic crisis provoked by the covid-19 sanitary situation affected wide parts of Europe’s youth. Centering the topic around the recent trends of entrepreneurship and eco-social impact initiatives, the participants explored ways to build up their entrepreneurial competences, and connect them to their everyday professional, personal and civic lives. An entrepreneurial mindset can be highly useful to start an own business or become self-employed. It can also be very helpful when trying to start a civic initiative, youth initiatives, work in an association, or even when working on projects as an employee for another entity. The project had the following objectives: - Allow participants to discover an entrepreneurial mindset as an opportunity for themselves and their environment and build up the confidence they need to transfer this to their everyday life - Allow participants build up basic practical entrepreneurial skills and raise awareness of the potential of eco-social visions in entrepreneurial designs in order to raise their civic competences and spirit; - Enable participants to develop their own ideas in a laboratory for ideas (and develop in groups 6 different business models which follow a social or ecological mission of their own) and create a set of concrete outcomes that can be used later on and beyond the life cycle of the project in form of a video and in form of an entrepreneurial network which will be built during the exchange and which will continue as a virtual community after the mobility; - Experience exchange by sharing good practices, needs and visions and support each other in developing them. This would allow participants to receive useful insights, widen their network, raise their confidence and serve as inspiration; - Foster intercultural exchange, develop intercultural awareness and competences and promote European values through the sharing and the living together during the project and the connection and networking after the project. The project was designed in such a way that it would contribute to the priorities of the Erasmus+ program. In particular, this exchange has been especially beneficial for young people facing fewer opportunities. For the partnership, this youth exchange also represented a step towards achieving the general objectives of the associations and in particular of the youth strategy of the associations by capacity building and building up spirit of initiative and civic engagement of young people and by developing ecological sustainable initiatives to promote climate protection, nature protection, circular economy and sustainable lifestyle.
