Objectives

EAR: EduAction Radio goes International was a 9-month project built as a result of the grassroots participation of young people from five countries in the post-first wave of the Covid-19 period. While we, as young people, got involved in a community inside the local network #ANGinradio #piùdiprima with other peers across Italy, our peers from Serbia, France, Estonia, and North Macedonia got involved in other community projects in their respective countries. The conclusion that all of us had come up with in our respective countries was that community creation is essential, together with seeing together new perspectives. However, we have seen a general lack of knowledge and understanding of the European Youth Goals, together with the general need for more critical thinking by young people and responsible processing of information and not simple fake news support. Our project needs were: - Lack of community led by young people and not an organization, that will support our grassroots activism; - Involvement of a diverse group of young people that are not necessarily part of an organization nor have an idea how to join, but are still willing to be (or already are) active in their community, but they miss an equal opportunity and access, inclusion and fairness; - Lack of knowledge of the European Youth Goals and their role and values in the everyday life of young Europeans; - Lack of responsible processing of information and distinguishing between fake news and news from secure sources, in a sea of information. Our objectives were: - Create a digital radio community led by young people (open to and participated by up to 13-30 years old) that will support and story tell grass roots youth activism; - Involve young people from different backgrounds and fewer opportunities, both during the mobility, but more importantly, through the whole preparation at home and follow-up after mobility activities, as to make them feel an active part of the community; - Create radio pills (podcasts, but also short episodes) that will focus directly on four European Youth Goals (Connecting EU with youth, Information and Constructive Dialogue, Space and Participation for All, Youth Organisation and European Programs), but with a horizontal approach and specific contents, will also tackle two extra: Mental Health and Well-being and Sustainable Green Europe; - Explore the topic of responsible processing of information by creating short digital products where the sources are well-defined (video, one-page infographics, podcasts, ecc) during the exchange. The final project aim was to promote responsible information sharing and giving ability to distinguish between real source and fake one.
