The project aims to promote the development of critical thinking and alternative narratives as a way to fight against online hate speech and cyberbullying. The Youth Exchange envisioned in this project application will allow the participants to share and reflect on their own stereotypes and prejudices and their experiences of facing online hate speech and cyberbullying. Also, the participants will gain practical skills in producing content (photography and videos) that will promote alternative narratives. Additionally, the participants will get an opportunity to develop cultural awareness about the different countries and cultures that the participants are coming from that will foster the social integration and sensitization of the young people with fewer opportunities in their societies. The main aim is to support the participants to understand the impact of the stereotypes and their connection to cyberbullying and online hate speech in order to develop critical thinking, as well as to equip them with digital skills for creating content that will promote alternative narratives. The objectives are: - To provide basic knowledge on the terminology related to stereotypes, online hate speech, and cyberbullying; - To create a safe space for self-reflection, discussion, and exchange of ideas and experiences; - To provide an understanding of stereotypes and their connection with cyberbullying, online hate speech as well as their - mpact on the mental health - To support the development of critical thinking; - To support the development of digital skills (storytelling, photography, video) for producing content that will promote alternative narratives.
