Objectives

The needs of the project have been identified through an in-depth research on bullying and cyberbullying both in Italy and in Europe, as there are still misconceptions and lack of awareness on the topic. Particularly due to Covid-19 and an increased use of digital tools, the issues related to cyberbullying have increased significantly, as young people are facing greater risks when it comes to harassment, discrimination or hate speech. The project aimed to raise awareness and address these issues by providing youth workers and youth associations with tools and skills to better understand and deal with these situations. By connecting with victims of bullying as well as perpetrators, youth workers have been able to directly address the root problem and prevent further escalation even as the pandemic has made the problem even more serious. By transferring knowledge such as European core values, such as tolerance, awareness of intercultural differences and equality, this project has helped young people to cope with the above mentioned challenges we face in our digital world. The objectives of this project, in accordance with Erasmus + and with the objectives of the Mobility of Youth Workers, were the following: - Provide non-formal and informal learning opportunities for the educational and professional development of youth workers participating in the mobility, providing them with skills and tools to deal with bullying and cyberbullying among young people. - Develop local best working practices among youth workers who can support activities or projects that include marginalized people. - Promote a more inclusive society and provide more spaces, opportunities, resources and programs to promote dialogue and social cohesion and combat discrimination and segregation, in line with Youth Goals #3 Inclusive Societies, part of the Strategy of the EU for young people 2019-2027. - Realize one of the priorities of the Erasmus+ Program, Inclusion and Diversity, by breaking down social barriers and those related to discrimination, related to bullying.
