Objectives

The project aimed at reproducing the experience of Api Romane on an international scale by organizing a training course focused on urban beekeeping addressed to youth workers from six countries in order to activate a sustainable, inclusive and pro-active process, characterized by a strong interconnection between youth organizations with the will to acquire skills in the field of environmental education and sustainable entrepreneurship to be transmitted during their daily work with young people. The project, in line with the priorities of the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme, aimed at educating and sensibilize young people about the issue of climate change and environmental protection through direct experience with urban beekeeping, promoting group sharing and cultural exchange, including good practices from different countries, analyzing the needs of youth workers and organizations in acquiring environmentally sustainable practices for their local and international activities. The themes of the project responded to objective 10 of the Youth Goals, aiming to make young people responsible for eco-sustainable life and work choices and reflecting on the impact of climate change on the ecosystem; to number 3 by ensuring the participation of youth workers with fewer opportunities and training educators to transmit ecological and entrepreneurial knowledge accessible to all young people; to number 7 by making youth organizations more competent in offering young people educational activities that develop green skills necessary for a more sustainable, fair and digital labor market. The project's ultimate aim was to increase the offer of activities and projects at European level to train young people with the necessary skills for sustainable and equitable economic development, to make them responsible for ecological choices and to promote sociability and social inclusion.
