This activity was born from the experience of collaboration between some youth organizations that since spring 2020 have come into contact to bring the voice and proposals of the new generations to the Italian political agenda. Specifically, all the partner organizations have been part of the "Youth Network 2021", an informal initiative born from the shared commitment of over 70 organizations, including informal groups, associations, territorial hubs of international organizations but also youth organizations that focus exclusively on communicating the needs of the youth generation through communication campaigns on social media. In the design and planning phase, they had the opportunity to meet virtually and reflect on what the objectives of this action should be, in relation to the needs collected from thousands of young people reached through the activity of the Youth Network and during the regular implementation of the institutional activities that characterize the various partner organizations. The following objectives have therefore been defined for this youth participation activity: - Create a path of reflection and participation on the most current European issues (Next Generation EU, Conference on the Future of Europe, European Youth Strategy, Green Deal, 2022 European Year of Youth), coordinated and facilitated by a network of youth organizations with different “institutional” focuses such as youth participation, environmental sustainability, development of critical thinking, social information, etc. This objective is in line with the desire to relaunch democratic processes in Europe, “through the emergence of a new model of participation of EU citizens. - Support the young people targeted in the first phase of activities (outreach, debate and training) in becoming peer educators (multipliers) during the second phase of the project (facilitation of training courses at schools, youth centers and youth information centers); - Develop digital skills and media literacy of young people in the age of social media; - Stimulate in the young beneficiaries of the activities a proactive spirit and civic commitment that leads them to engage in volunteering and participation activities at multiple levels.
