The Green and Digital Transitions are the centrepiece of the Next Generation EU, and have become the driving factors for the future of Europe. Topics such as chips shortage, carbon tax, gatekeepers, smart cities and circular economy are now at the core of the EU’s economic and political agenda, with sustainability becoming more and more a key element in these processes. Younger generations – Millennials, Gen Z and Gen Y – will be the most affected by the challenges of pursuing such transitions. However, it seems at times that they are not ready to face them in a conscious and politically aware manner. Whilst younger people are more digitised and more aware of what climate change is, they seem not to appreciate the enormous power these transitions have in shaping the future of our societies. On that account, CSI, a newcomer in terms of Erasmus+ projects, in collaboration with garagErasmus Foundation and EFEKTAS Group, decided to start the project “SustainEU – Embracing the Digital and Green challenge of Next generations”. Lasting just a year, SustainEU has been a small and significant journey into digital and green ideas and expectations from the perspective of the younger generations.
