Digital safetyPrevention of bullying

Objectives

The aim was to create conditions for students to participate in trainings on the topic of cyberbullying, in activities organized by teachers who participated in the courses. This should have helped to acquire knowledge and competences related to the prevention of cyberbullying, reducing its scale in the institution, teaching to take personal responsibility for one's actions. This knowledge contributed to improving students' digital skills, communication and collaboration. The aim was to create a positive learning environment for students: every year the dissatisfaction with learning results decreases, and the psychological and social situation improves.

Background

As the educational process gradually moves to the virtual space, students are increasingly exposed to cyberbullying. It is a phenomenon that is extremely difficult to notice and control. The fact that cyberbullying exists was revealed by a sociological study, the respondents of which are students, students' parents and teachers (the results of the sociological study are presented on the eTwinning project page). This project was initiated in order to control the situation after distance learning. The project is intended to raise the awareness of students, parents and teachers, thereby reducing cyberbullying in the school community, as well as in other institutions.
