One of the aims was to improve the teaching quality and consequently academic students' learning results by 5-10 %.This was supposed to be achieved by improving teachers' digital competences so that they could generate the digital content themselves and engage students in activities. As a result, this could encourage the learners to reach higher academic results. The other aim was directly related to recertification of the gymnasium as Health Promoting School by the Ministry of Education. Observation of good practices in hosting schools was supposed to provide inspiration for new Health Promotion Strategic Activity Plan for the period of 2022-2027 and its application in practice. In addition, this was supposed to encourage learners to pursue healthy lifestyle, to maintain their physical and mental health whereas Health Promotion policy of the gymnasium states that only both physically and mentally fit learners can achieve the best learning results.
Kaunas Varpas gymnasium is a secondary school preparing students for state exams. It belongs to the network of ELOS schools and, therefore, is eager to participate in Erasmus projects. In addition, it is officially a Health-Promoting school. Thus, the issues of healthy lifestyle, namely physical/mental well-being and healthy nutrition are of crucial importance and are included in the school curriculum. Various events and small-scale projects are arranged on the topic. The issues are analysed and integrated in lessons of various subjects. As well as this, the school has Health-Promotion Policy, according to which only a healthy person can achieve high results and feel inspired to learn. The school is designing a new Health Promotion strategic activity plan for the period of five years to receive recertification. Therefore, new ideas are constantly needed and transnational meetings could be a perfect source of inspiration. Moreover, although all classes are fully equipped with technologies, some teachers lack confidence and knowledge in applying them in practice, especially as far as video-making is concerned. Thus, a project was a chance to fill in the missing gaps, which was in turn supposed to lead to higher learning results.
