By participating in the project, we aimed to provide teachers with development opportunities, maintain their motivation, and have a positive impact on students. We aimed for this project to contribute to the creation of a new generation of school and help to move faster to the digital transformation of the school: the participants would learn to use more diverse digital tools, master different methods of classroom management, learn new communication methods, implement new, modern technologies, contribute to the improvement of the school's IT infrastructure .
The pandemic situation caused by the Covid-19 disease has sensitively affected the school sector and highlighted its problems. Since most of the teachers working at our school are over 50 years old, some teachers often have a harder time accepting innovations and not keeping up with the challenges of the times. Even for younger teachers, this period brought necessary changes: it was necessary to organize all work remotely, to learn new principles of classroom management, to learn ways to communicate in a different way, to engage learners, to use more diverse digital technologies. Improving these competencies and organizing the work of the new generation of teachers is a challenge for our community of teachers, because teaching remotely is not common. However, the school is trying to overcome these challenges, teachers participate in training on this relevant topic, but there is a lack of high-quality training that is not offered in Lithuania, so we thought that this project and high-quality training that meets the need abroad would help the participants acquire the necessary competencies. The school leaders, faced with the new reality, noticed that they had to learn new skills and competences.
