This project pursued two main objectives: 1. Create conditions for the students of the Ballet Department of the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts to gain experience at the international level 2. To improve the social, cultural and linguistic competences of the dance students of the modular professional training programs at the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts. The project also aimed to create conditions for the students of the School's Ballet department to gain international experience and deepen their knowledge while training at the professional training schools in foreign countries. We wanted the students to have the opportunity to get to know dance methodologies of other countries in order to give them opportunity to become more versatile dance professionals.
National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts is the only such institution in Lithuania and the School's Ballet department is the only program that offers professional diploma upon graduation from High school for future classical ballet and contemporary dance artists. This school is vital for training future dance professionals in Lithuania, but the fact that there no other such programs in the country raises its own problems – for it is necessary for any young artists, and especially a teenager, to be introduced to a wider circle of colleagues in order to grow and mature as an individual. Thus, it is vital for this program to foster international relationships with similar educational institutions in other countries. For exactly this reason an Erasmus+ project "Let the Dance Speak" was created: it allowed the students and teachers from National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts in Lithuania and Profesionalas izglitibas kompetences centrs "Nacionala Makslu vidusskola" to share their knowledge, experience, meet and find new friends and colleagues, expand their professional and personal competences, and work toward making dance programs of the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts more competitive in the international scene.
