The Lithuanian University of Sport (LSU) has an extensive experience of the participation in the Erasmus Programme since 1999 when Lithuania joined the Programme. The LSU has been successfully implementing the mobility activities of students and staff, and has been involved in a number of European and international cooperation projects supported by the Erasmus Programme. The LSU participation in the mobility activities supported by the Erasmus Programme contributes to a great extent to the implementation of the institutional strategic objectives, in particular, (1) carrying out internationally recognised high-level research and experimental development in sport science, (2) conducting high-quality accessible, modern and research-based studies, and (3) increasing the international dimension and visibility of the University. In the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, the LSU maintains partnership with over 90 European higher education institutions from 27 countries. Within the current Erasmus+ KA131 project, the LSU aimed to send 38 mobile students for studies and traineeships and 35 staff members for teaching and training for the development of their general and professional knowledge, skills and competencies.
