We wanted to design the innovative on-line tool for the multi stakeholder assessment of mental health situation at schools. Thus helping schools to build on-going mechanism for evaluation of mental health, that support engagement and commitment of different stakeholders, and applying specific techniques to resolve the issues on different levels: management, classroom climate and learning environment. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES 1) contribute to increasing the attainment levels among children and adolescence. 2) foster truly inclusive education and training based on addressing the common needs for wellbeing among students. management, classroom climate and learning environment In order to create the final product we aimed to implement the research and design the authentic questionnaire. The questionnaire offers solution how to integrate different perspectives around the same theme.
First and foremost we apply, cause we care about the mental health situations at schools. Second - we do have expertise working in this area. Third - we had an idea and some insights for a tool, how schools could measure the mental health climate in their schools by themselves and receive recommendation and guidance on how to improve the situation that they are not satisfied with. And do it as many times as they need to measure their change on the selected areas of the improvement. We sea recent statistics (Sept, 2017) brought by Technical Briefing on Child, and Adolescent Health (WHO/EURO, Sept 2019) have shown that adolescents mental health is fragile: 1) More than 4000 deaths per year (15% of all deaths,10–19 years) are due to suicide; 2) Anxiety and depression are among the top five causes of overall disease burden 3) Youth mental health policies and services are often non-existent or underdeveloped. As a result, suicide has become 1st leading cause of death among adolescents in low- and middle-income countries and 2nd leading cause in high-income countries in the WHO European Region. Seeing that we wanted to create a user-friendly free tool for evaluating the mental health situation at their school.
