Objectives

Discrimination against sexual minorities, who have faced the worst kinds of discrimination and violence based on their gender identity and sexual orientation, is one of the most severe problems in every EU member state. They have been labeled as less than human and, in some cases, non-human. Protection mechanisms must have a natural effect on the whole community. We were able to do this by correctly interpreting the ideas and coming up with new ones, which will make EU values stronger than ever. The ban on discrimination and the protection of human rights are two important parts of EU law. Still, LGBTQ+ people in the EU have to deal with discrimination, which can come in many forms, such as verbal abuse and physical violence. The EU now recognizes sexual orientation as a discriminatory factor. Because of this, LGBTI+ people are especially vulnerable in areas where the law doesn't cover them, such as social protection, health care, education, and access to goods and services. Education is the key to changing things and stopping people from being mean and violent toward the LGBTQI+ community. We asked people from different backgrounds and experiences to get the best results to help. Such an approach enabled us to combine our objectives, which led to the following results: 1) Raising awareness and understanding of the rights of LGBTQI+ individuals and providing them with the legal and social resources to fight for them. 2) Identified high-profile cases in their home countries and devised strategies to reduce the number of intolerant and discriminatory societal attitudes. 3) Spreading tolerance and demonstrating to their communities that everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, political viewpoint, religious affiliation, or country of origin, is a member of the same society and enjoys the same rights as a whole population. For the youth exchange to meet its goals, there were several interactive workshops on LGBTQI+ rights. The purpose of these workshops was to dispel myths and limit stereotypes. The same happened at many film screenings and informative discussions led by guest speakers and industry professionals.
