Objectives

"Digital Refresh” aim was to contribute to the strategic priorities of the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027), especially in the section two of this plan, Enhancing digital skills and competences for the digital transformation.(ref:https://ec.europa.eu/education/education-in-the-eu/digital-education-action-plan_en). "Digital Refresh aimed to introduce European youth workers to the practical methods for delivering IT tools, working with robotics on a small scale, programming languages introduction and combining all of these tools in a plan for implementation of these tools into a project by elaborating all of the project phases. Based on the bombastic development of online tools and tech startups, and the massive impact of media in the world in the past year when humanity was faced with the coronavirus pandemic, we consider that IT education of youth workers who will be the direct educators of the young people in their communities is essential for the years to come. The young people are heavily involved in online education, trainings, activities and usage of online platforms, but they still are missing the proper IT education and leadership supplied through the non-formal education. This is the segment we saw as a great project topic and idea to be implemented through "Digital Refresh". This project involved 20 youth leaders in completely new and unique project curricula related to the massively popular Maker movement and the building technological and IT skills very relevant for the time we live in. Inspired by the extraordinary learning quality and results of the first "REfresh, REmake" project, our aim was to inspire youth leaders to start working in areas related to technology and to start implement tech knowledge into building their own project curricula. The project program was dedicated on innovations, creating prototypes, market strategies, and digital tools education for youth workers, and most important, sharing best practices of our work and project development curricula related to the topic. The main objective of this project was to upgrade and advance the technological and IT learning capacities of the youth leaders and the NGOs they work for in their home countries. There were 3 subgoals for this project: 1. Sharing best practices of Refresh Luxembourg related to implementation of IT related projects 2. Delivering practical curricula through which youth workers were able to get skills and knowledge to create future projects in their home countries 3. Creating a network of youth workers who are able to work on quality tech education for young people
