A modern educational institution means that it: learns; introduces information and communication technologies in the learning and work process; develops learners' abilities by teaching learning areas by integrating them with each other; implements inclusive education; implements an environmentally friendly daily routine in environment. By implementing the project, we want to become a more modern preschool, achieving the following goals: 2.1. get acquainted with the first steps to get ECO school status; 2.2. promote preschool teachers' understanding of the importance of environmental education; 2.3. encourage in the learning process in preschool, as well as in the students' families, to use the nearest available natural resources for active recreation, as well as to promote students respect and love to Earth and nature; 2.4. to provide preschool teachers with an insight into the importance of developing emotional intelligence in the learning and working environment for the development of the personality of preschool learners and ensuring an emotionally organized work environment; 2.5. to improve the English language skills of preschool workers; 2.6. to gain first experience in KA122 project.
Preschool "Saulīte" is an institution attended by more than 200 students aged 1 year and 6 months to 7 years age. We are residents of a city where 64% of the total territory is covered by nature, and its preservation is included in the city's development plan. The preschool is surrounded by nature - it is located near a pine grove, in the presence of the bends of Lielupe, one kilometer from the sea coast. The presence of nature has influenced the implementation process of preschool education. Available natural resources and current developments in nature inspire us and encourage us to update the environment more and more. Rather, an environmentally friendly attitude and an environmentally friendly way of life, which constitutes environmental education, are not self-evident to representatives of every generation. Understanding of environmentally friendly attitude, formation of motives and strengthening of education is also essential for preschool teachers, who are the next creators of children's personality and education after the family. The goals of the project are in line with our priorities and values and is a great way for us to express ourselves as an active, nature-friendly preschool.
