When implementing such projects, it has been observed that the participants become more independent and confident. The aim of the school is to promote unity and cooperation between its departments. Over several years, it has been observed Erasmus+ projects play a part in that by students sharing their experiences, and the school administration cooperating at different levels. By 2022, the capacity of international projects has grown to such an extent that opportunities for labour support are being sought to ensure the quality of future projects.

Background

From October 2021 until June 2022, VECC National School of Arts implemented Erasmus+ project "Lingua Franca of Arts". Project partners were 6 schools in Europe, with whom new or sustained collaborations were established. VECC National School of Arts consists of Riga Cathedral Choir School, Riga Ballet School, Janis Rozentals Art School and Emils Darzins Music School. Since the school reorganization in 2016, this was the second Erasmus+ project, which has been implemented by the whole school, although each department has also implemented several projects separately. During these years, the departments of the school, through persistent cooperation, have had the opportunity to expand the range of partner schools in Europe, to create opportunities for students and teachers who previously did not have such chance. In 2022, VECC National School fo Arts received Erasmus accreditation. During the project that will be launched in 2022/2023, all departments of VECC National School of Arts will participate - including the Emils Darzins Music School, which has implemented projects independently several years ago. Thanks to the Erasmus experience, the school can grow and develop in the implementation of international projects.
