Background

The crisis due to COVID-19 underlined the importance of access to digital media/tools and to be familiar with them, as well as the role and power of cultural development in society. Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) were among the hardest affected by the pandemic crisis, Covid-19 pandemic, with jobs at risk ranging from 0.8 to 5.5% of employment across OECD regions. The pandemic particularly affected venue-based activities due to social distancing (i.e. museums, performing arts, live music, festivals, cinema, etc.). With over 1.1 million cultural enterprises in the EU-27 as of 2017, and a significant presence in Italy, the project targeted CCIs educators, and professionals, especially in rural areas, to bridge the digital divide and empower individuals within the CCIs for resilience and growth.
