Background

Applying for this project was driven by significant shifts in education due to COVID-19 and rapid digitalization, leading to more self-guided learning. This change demands new teaching methods focused on student-centered education. Our project aims to revolutionize this by introducing a Skills Monitoring System (SMS) for educational transformation. We're addressing the need for a clear, transparent framework supporting autonomous learning aligned with labor market demands, crucial in today's student-centric educational environment. Additionally, we're tackling labor and education system challenges, aiming to enhance skill transparency and market readiness. Motivated by the success of Riga Stradins University's initial SMS, supported by European Social Funds, we see the importance of expanding this system across Europe. In essence, SkillTrack seeks to develop methodologies enhancing self-directed learning and foster discussions between administrations, institutions, and employers to align education with labor needs, reducing skill gaps, and supporting the creation of a unified European educational infrastructure.
