Objectives

Elevate YOUth Work aims to empower organizations and provide youth workers with fundamental knowledge, tools, and methods to be able to get and support LGBTQIA+ volunteers involved in their organization and activities. The focus of the project is on volunteering in general, with special attention to European Solidarity Corps. While there are many organizations that work in general with youth with fewer opportunities in their volunteering activities, there are only a few, who work with LGBTQIA+ youth, thus majority, unfortunately, don't know how to respond to their needs, support their development, and foster their active participation in society. This lack of competencies on how to work effectively with their issues and needs also brings a lack of inclusion of LGBTQIA+ youth in volunteering and other learning activities. Creating inclusive surroundings and societies is the responsibility of each and every individual, NGO’s and other institutions that are providing the ESC possibilities, which are playing a significant role in educating, raising awareness, and creating bridges between different parts of local society, as well as raising attention to the topic also on national and European levels. The objectives of the project are: - increase the life-long competencies (youthpass) and youth work professional development of participants in each project phase; - improve the quality of youth work and volunteering projects of organizations working or starting to work with LGBT+ youth; - organize 16 local activities (minimum 2 per country) in the participating countries during the LAP; - create and disseminate a Booklet about Volunteering and LGBT+ youth work, during the CBE Meeting with the used methodology and approaches; - organize a Conference (networking event), to exploit the results of the project, promote volunteering and LGBT+ participation; - promote Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps and their beneficial role for inclusivity and active participation of marginalized youth;
