Objectives

Nowadays, more and more young people face a severe obstacle to find applicable job position, as we saw from the research about the unemployment rates in Europe, with young people under 25 years old being the most affected aged group, according to Eurostat calculation. The project "Build Your Career", which consisted of the Training Course (TC) was based on Non-Formal Education methods focused on participants who are youth workers, youth leaders, social workers and people who work with unemployed people/ job seekers on a voluntary or professional basis, aiming to address these issues and offer new tools and skills to the participants. Young people represent a part of the population particularly afflicted by unemployment. Already, before the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic in Europe, the unemployment rate for under 25 years old has risen sharply as a result of containment measures in most eurozone countries, leading to an unemployment rate of 8.3% for the entire EU and 17.2% for young people aged between 15 and 25 years old in February 2021. Through the previous years the unemployment among young people was still in high rates in Spain, Italy and North Macedonia. All of them remain at the first positions of the list, about youth unemployment, with more than one quarter of young people been unemployed in each country, according to Eurostat. The gap between the lowest and highest youth unemployment rates in the project partner countries is significant high with Romania 16.0% and Spain around 39.6% unemployment young people under 25 years old, following by North Macedonia with 35.6%, Italy with 31.6% and Latvia with 15.9%, according to Eurostat in February 2021. At the same time EU counts more than 2.967 million unemployed young people under 25 years old in February 2021, 230 thousand more compered to February 2020, according to the latest publication of Eurostat at 6 of April 2021. It should be noted that main impact of Covid-19 on the labor market is not fully visual at this moment, because of the unstable health situation in all the states of European Union. Therefore, despite the mobilization and support provided by the European Union, the economic forecasts are relatively negative as to the improvement of the youth employment situation in the coming months. The objectives of the project were to: • Equip the participants with methods and competences through non-formal and informal activities, that would eventually enable them to foster job-searching skills among youngsters in their local realities, with a particular focus on disadvantaged youths (NEETs, youngsters from underdeveloped urban/rural areas, and/or immigrant background), and also the capacity to cooperate in European and international level. • Introduce the participants to the most innovative tools and trends that are useful in the process of searching for a job, providing Quality Employment for All (EU Youth Strategy). • Promote intercultural comprehension and social inclusion among different national, cultural, and social background.
