Objectives

Main goal of ‘YAK’ is to support direct participation of young people in shaping decisions influencing their future. Considering this main goal we plan to achieve following: -to increase capacities of ‘YAK’ (stuff, youth workers, trainers, young people involved in organization’s activities, volunteers) essential to deliver quality activities in the key areas of the work: fighting youth unemployment, entrepreneurship, youth participation and regional cooperation with special focus to be paid to bilateral cooperation with Greece; -to update methods of youth work, to develop tools, approaches responding to the needs of young people including young people with fewer opportunities. In this case ‘YAK’ aims to learn from the practices of other youth organizations, to transfer good practices into daily work of the organizations and in long -term perspective to increase quality of youth work in North Macedonia. ‘YAK’ is a member of NYCM and through national network of youth organizations can share lessons learned and contribute to building capacities of other youth organizations; -digital transformation of the work of the organization at various levels. Current pandemic COVID-19 but also trends in youth work made digital transformation to be a necessary step. Under the pandemic situation we learnt new tools of communication and also we adapted new methods of youth work e.g. to reach young people, to involve them in online activities. Nevertheless, we identified a big digital gap in ‘YAK’ in terms of digital skills of the staff, trainers, youth workers, the lack of skills to effectively use digital tools, to create engaging content and to fully support youth development via digital tools. Through participation in Erasmus + Programme we aim to digital transform the work of the organization and to become more capable to provide quality youth activities via digital tools; -to empower young people, to encourage to be active and to get involved. ‘YAK’ has worked on the issue of active youth participation, involvement of young people in the decision making process for a long period. In this area ‘YAK’ is actively cooperating with decision makers and local governments e.g. municipality Karpos. Activating young people is one of the key goals of ‘YAK’ and through Erasmus + Programme we believe to increase our capacities needed to active young people including young people with fewer opportunities and to build their capacities to take part in the decision making process. ‘YAK’ plans to activate young people by offering the opportunity to volunteer, to interact with their peers and work on improving relationships with the neighbouring countries, especially Greece. In line with the organization’s long term plans ‘YAK’ see participation in Erasmus + Programe as an opportunity to support active participation of young by providing them an opportunity to take part in learners mobilities and especially in Participation Activities. ‘YAK’ see participation of youth in Erasmus + Programme as a way of their capacity building and activating; -to raise awareness on Erasmus + Programme between young people but also wider public. Obtaining Erasmus + Accreditation will give ‘YAK’ an opportunity to include Erasmus + activities in the future organization’s plan in a more structural way. It will also be an opportunity to share our knowledge of the Programme with other stakeholders, including young organizations or educational institutions in a way to motivate them to take part. Moreover, it will also be an opportunity to promote Erasmus + Programme to a wider audience and to reach young people who are not having knowledge of the Programme and are lacking information about its opportunities.
