The University of Malta (UM) always aims to maximise the utilisation of opportunities provided by the Erasmus+ programme in order to enhance the experience of higher education students and staff. The UM strives to not only ensure that as many beneficiaries as possible benefit, but also to improve the quality of such mobilities, for the purpose of supporting the personal and professional development of the beneficiaries. This key goal was sought throughout this project by continuing to collaborate with partner universities with whom the UM already has Inter-Institutional Agreements (IIAs), and also, by extending these IIAs to include other areas, where possible. This goal was also sought by starting effective collaborations with new partner universities. In aiming for this goal, the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme and one of the objectives of the UM's main strategic plan, namely to ensure the continuous development and improvement in internationalisation, are continuously realised. Furthermore, the UM also wanted to ensure the highest quality possible for mobilities and partnerships by following Erasmus+ regulations and implementing necessary procedures and practices. As a result, the qualitative aspect was also maintained.
