Background

In 2017 Advenio eAcademy established a strategic framework agreement with Solidarity Overseas Malta, one of Malta’s most active and recognized NGOs. Through this agreement, Advenio eAcademy committed to partner with SOS Malta in the design, development and delivery of customized courses to address some of the more critical social problems including the integration of migrants, domestic-based violence, etc. In 2018, Advenio eAcademy developed a non-accredited programme targeting NGOs in Malta. The programme was composed of five different modules addressing the Key NGO Challenges, Fundamentals of Management, Fundamentals of Marketing and Campaigning, Fundamentals of HRM and Fundamentals of Financial Management. Over a period of one and a half years, a total number of 119 registered students representing a total of 54 NGOs based in Malta. The high registration and take-up from NGOs highlights the need for training and development from individuals who are already working within this sector. The positive feedback received from this programme encouraged both partners to upgrade the programme with ECTS accreditation and additional content and extend this to another European country, Cyprus with the involvement of the NGO CARDET.
