Objectives

We want to make our students aware of the environmental challenges around water and water management that face us. We also want to make them think about their role in trying to solve these challenges. We want to make our students into 'Global Citizens' by getting them in touch with institutions abroad and by letting them reflect on how they can make a change in an ever changing world.

Background

1. We want to educate all our students as 'Global Citizens', preparing them for study and work in an international environment, in our area as well as abroad. 2. Apart from that we want to make them aware of the environmental challenges we face and teach them to cope with them and even use the challenges to grow as human beings. In order to do that we need to offer them opportunities to work together with students from abroad and give them the opportunity to look 'over the fence' in all respects. 3. We want to create a 'Green Team' at our school of students and teachers who are involved in finding solutions for sustainability issues, like finding ways to reduce our heating and electricity bills, but also think about things like responsible use of water and other natural materials at school as well as at home. We want them to get acquainted with other students who probably face some of the same challenges and have found different solutions, e.g. because of the way their society is arranged and learn from them, but also teach them about the way we try to handle the challenges. 4. With this project we aim to teach our students aspects about water and water management that cannot be taught in our area
