Through active participation in the KA131 CALL2021 project, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) endeavours to cultivate international collaboration and facilitate student and staff mobility among European institutions. We applied for this CALL focusing on traditional Erasmus+ funding for student and staff mobility, since we were still in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis and also needed additional time to work out the novelties of the Erasmus+ programme. Ultimately, we successfully concluded the project with a utilisation rate exceeding 100%, even though we encountered many challenges with the implementation of the Beneficiary Module and the Erasmus Without Paper Project. Our implementation of this project has made a substantial contribution to the overall development and internationalisation of our university. It has enabled students to acquire valuable intercultural experiences while fostering an atmosphere of academic excellence and global engagement.
