"All seas are interconnected, and the environment knows no boundaries. It is imperative that people unite, regardless of their geographical origins, be it the Mediterranean or the Caribbean Sea. The strength of our environmental efforts depends on the weakest link in nature. This is why young people from four countries across the globe have joined forces to combat plastic pollution. The project's title, 'No Water, No Life! No Blue, No Green!' conveys a powerful message: If there is no water, no life and if there is no blue, no green. The youth exchange aimed to train young people from the different Caribbean and European countries to reduce plastic marine pollution through non-formal education with a focus to intercultural learning. Its objectives were: -To develop understanding and empathy of young people on marine plastic pollution. -To be aware of using single-use plastic and its effect to encourage young people to lower plastic consumption -To develop a deeper understanding of how to protect and preserve our seas -To increase the sense of initiative of young people to implement their ideas to reduce plastic marine pollution -To explore our own marine environment and compare the differences and similarities with other partner countries -To provide a safe space for young people from four different countries to explore other cultures -To promote intercultural understanding, tolerance among people. One of the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme is Environment and Fight Against Climate Change. This youth exchange aimed to support this priority. In addition to that, the project was in line with the European Youth Goals #10Sustainable Green Europe, whose goal is to achieve a society in which all young people are environmentally active, educated and able to make a difference in their everyday lives.
