The Sports for the Fight Against Addiction project aimed to combat youth addiction, focusing on sports as a preventive measure. Rooted in research findings and aligned with the Eleventh Development Plan, we sought to address addiction issues related to drugs, tobacco, alcohol, and technology. Despite existing efforts, the rising addiction rates indicated a need for more localized interventions, especially in the context of the European Commission's Erasmus+ Sports program. The objective of the project was to create a campaign leveraging sports to reach and assist youngsters with addiction problems. Recognizing the negative impact of addiction on young individuals and their families, we aimed to use sports as a positive outlet, providing both physical and mental benefits. The focus, particularly on team sports, aimed to foster inclusivity and a sense of belonging, offering a supportive environment for youth combating addiction.
