The objectives of this project were to: 1. increase the capacity of youth workers to (co-)develop and (co-)implement (more professional) activities that use dance as an instrument to encourage a cohesive and constructive dialogue about a societal issue such as homelessness that is complex in nature, susceptible to prejudice and full of sensitivities; 2. equip youth workers with various dance competences and techniques, allowing them to support young people in their learning process using dance as a method; 3. help youth workers develop and express various perspectives around (the situations of) homeless people, including intercultural and international aspects, and enable them to break stereotypes with regard to homeless people; 4. increase the capacity of youth workers and their organisations to reach out to, involve, and address the needs of the weaker youth in society (with a focus on homeless youth) in their future youth work activities; 5. inspire and move local communities to engage with and look after homeless people in their neighbourhoods; 6. introduce the weaker youth in society (with a focus on homeless youth) to learning and development opportunities available to them, in particular those opportunities that dance and youth work offer, and as such provide them a sense of perspective; 7. inspire such youth to develop their own initiatives in these fields, and to use their skills and talents – that may have been suppressed due to various social and economic factors – in doing so. 8. build and strengthen cooperation among the participating organisations and with the external stakeholders involved in the project, and in doing so contribute to each other’s professional development.
