Objectives

Over the course of several school years, Buskerud upper secondary school has had a collaboration with Arnoldi BBS1 in Göttingen, Lower Saxony, and has built a good relationship with this school. The corona situation has meant that physical visits have not been possible, therefore the schools have had digital student meetings and relationship building between the schools. The first student meeting consisted of presenting their youth enterprise groups. The second student meeting has focused on talking about youth culture, including the food culture among young people in Norway and Germany. The programs have been interdisciplinary between program subjects in sales, service and tourism and English. These meetings were successful! There have otherwise been regular, digital meetings between the teachers. Our focus areas were mainly based on getting to know business, sustainable meals and the tourism industry. Several of the competence targets for sales, service and tourism were covered through these.

Background

Over the course of several school years, Buskerud upper secondary school has had a collaboration with Arnoldi BBS1 in Göttingen, Lower Saxony, and has built a good relationship with this school. The corona situation has meant that physical visits have not been possible, therefore the schools have had digital student meetings and relationship building between the schools. The programs have been interdisciplinary between program subjects in sales, service and tourism and English. These meetings were successful! There have otherwise been regular, digital meetings between the teachers. One of the competence goals for sales, service and tourism is the hosting role and getting to know other countries and cultures. By traveling to another country, experiencing school and working life, perhaps getting to know the language better, we hope that the threshold for leaving Norway after completing education will be lower for students. Our students mostly live in a small settlement near the school.
