Objectives

The Norwegian University of Life Sciences' (NMBU) ambition is to have 20% of our student body participate in a form of mobility during their studies. It is clear that NMBU participating in Erasmus+ European mobility is crucial towards this ambition. Though this ambition was hampered during the pandemic, we are delighted to see that the numbers are increasing. After the pandemic we have successfully worked intensively to promote the benefits of participating in mobility through Erasmus+ and our partner universities. Within NMBU's vision of "Knowledge for Life" , is that our candidates will have the knowledge, competencies and skills required to meet major global challenges. Internationalisation is a premise towards this goal and supporting quality in research and higher education, and to develop good and internationally oriented study programs. Implementing the Erasmus+ project is a major contributor to obtain this vision. Through the Erasmus+ program NMBU receives more than 270 incoming mobility students every year (post pandemic). These students contribute to an international and diverse campus and help nourish international perspectives both within and outside classroom dynamics (Internationalization at home).
