Østfold University College/Høgskolen i Østfold (HiØ) has re-focused our energies on increasing the visiblity of Erasmus for both our students and staff to ensure the continued development of well-functioning and long-lasting partnerships in Europe. Participation in Erasmus+ helps to ensure that HiØ meets its strategic goals. The Programme supports the development of international mobility opportunities and plays an important role in fulfilling our obligation to give degree students an international experience. Participation in the Programme strengthens our goal to increase not only the number of outgoing students, but also incoming students. Furthermore, the Programme supports staff mobility, which is instrumental to the development of international networks, new knowledge and competence. Our experience over the programme period shows the importance Erasmus+ study and training opportunities have for the development of key competences like intercultural skills, language skills, multicultural awareness and employability. We view Erasmus+ as a vital tool for strengthening our European network and for providing the students and staff with valuable international experience which builds bridges and creates openness.
