Young people at their early professional stages face issues related to career choices. They find it hard to select the right career paths & to follow professions they would enjoy. The problem is derived from a lack of knowledge of careers that exist; poor awareness of their individual competencies and no clear idea of how they can develop themselves jobs. Ultimately, young people are confused with their professional development, and they feel not happy/ dissatisfied with what they do, no matter whether they work in companies, study at universities or do relatively nothing regarding their careers. Our project idea was to gather young people from different programme and partner countries; clarify their career-related needs and exchange ways of developing their potential in a way that they would feel successful and happy with their careers. We united the expertise of 6 partners and 31 participants for an 8-day youth exchange mobility prepared. They explored career paths that exist deeply; exchanged their experiences; found common issues and explored solutions they could use to satisfy profession-related needs. There were inclusive activities to create a friendly environment and to drive the proper attainment of competencies. Young people developed themselves and disseminated outputs for a greater impact. More specifically, our objectives were as follows: To raise the knowledge of youngsters in current professions. To analyze their competencies and clarify the strong and weak sides of participants. To let participants create the right mindset for their career development; To find career motivation and create short- and long-term development plans. To raise awareness of the added value of non-formal learning. To elaborate on the role of a mentor in career development. To break down career-related stereotypes. To see the importance of internationality in careers and to foster a sense of tolerance. To create “Career Development Clubs” in each country.
