Our objectives for Initiative for Dynamizing Educational Adaptation: Youth initiative incubation for 13-18 year-old youngsters in rural towns (from here on referred to as IDEA) were: 1. Empower Youth Initiatives: We sought to encourage and support local youth initiatives by providing tailored mentoring and educational materials, catering to their specific needs. 2. Create Safe Incubator Spaces: Our objective was to establish "incubator houses" in two locations, offering young people a secure environment to execute their ideas and projects. 3. Enhance Competencies: We aimed to empower youth by improving their competencies and engaging them in a structured learning process led by mentors. 4. Boost Confidence: Our project aimed to instill the belief in young people that they possess the ability to turn their ideas into reality, fostering confidence and self-assuredness. 5. Promote Internationalization: We aspired to take their ideas to an international level, showcasing opportunities for them to internationalize their initiatives and connect with a global audience.
Youth for Diversity Agder (YDA) and our partner, Tett-Hely Ifjusagi Egyesulet (THIE), were founded by young individuals driven to enact change within our local communities and democracies. Through our collaborative efforts, we identified a significant void in the support system for young people aged 13-18 in Norway and Hungary. These young individuals harbor a wealth of innovative ideas and a strong passion for local activism and community engagement, particularly in the realms of sustainability and green initiatives. However, they often lack the essential components of knowledge, self-assurance, funding, and resources required to transform their ideas into tangible actions. This realization underscored the urgent necessity for tailor-made non-formal educational materials and methodologies that could empower these youth to become proactive change agents, adept project managers, and social entrepreneurs in their communities. Our motivation extends from our shared commitment to European values, our independence from local authorities, and our desire to champion community-driven initiatives led by youth for youth.
