Objectives

The "Yourganic Way" project was aimed at achieving several key objectives in line with the priorities of the Erasmus+ Program: Purposeful Use of Digital Technologies in Youth Work: The project focused on creating digital educational content and a gamified mobile application in the field of organic gardening and healthy diet. Educating and Engaging Young People: Using an innovative gamified mobile application, the project aimed to educate young people on healthy nutrition, sustainable, and ecological food production. Encouraging Positive Health Practices: The project sought to demonstrate engaging and innovative approaches in food production, particularly greens and vegetables, to encourage positive health practices among youth. Raising Awareness: The project aimed to raise awareness among young people about food health issues and inspire them to adopt the most sustainable ways to produce healthy food and prioritize organic produce. Providing Practical Tools: "Yourganic Way" aimed to provide young people with practical tools, such as the "My Pet Veggie" mobile application, where they could grow and harvest their organic vegetables, thereby learning about healthy food practices in an interactive way.

Background

The "Yourganic Way" project was conceived to tackle the urgent need for healthier dietary habits among youth, highlighted by WHO findings showing low fruit and vegetable consumption. Recognizing the pervasive influence of digital technology on young people, the project innovatively combined digital engagement with education on organic gardening and healthy eating. Focused on transforming screen time into a learning opportunity, "Yourganic Way" developed digital content and a gamified app, "Grolo," to make learning about organic produce and sustainable diets engaging and accessible. The project aimed to raise awareness about the health impacts of non-organic foods, such as those with pesticides and GMOs, and to encourage a shift towards organic options. By its conclusion, "Yourganic Way" had made significant strides in educating young people about healthy food choices and sustainable living, leveraging digital trends to enhance learning and engagement. This approach not only informed but also empowered youth, fostering a generation more conscious of their dietary choices and their broader impact on health and the environment.
