Objectives

The main objective of the project was to improve the English language skills of the staff of the Cultural Centre. The development of language competences was aimed at facilitating the cooperation of the Cultural Center with foreign partners, both in relation to adults and youth. The ability to conduct a conversation in English has contributed to the development of current partnerships with Hungary, Macedonia, Ireland and will facilitate the implementation of new international projects, including Erasmus+. The aim of participation in the project was also to develop the ability to use online tools and resources on the web. The development of digital skills made it easier to continue learning a foreign language using programs and tools available online. Participants developed their digital skills, using some programs, using various sources of information on the web. Background

The Municipal Cultural Center in Pelplin is one of two local government cultural institutions in the Pelplin commune (the other being the Municipal Library). It serves as a center for cultural/artistic education, an organizer of local events and a place to maintain local tradition and build identity. The main areas of activity of the Cultural Center: 1) Cultural education carried out through classes and workshops such as theater, dance, art, music, vocal, handicrafts and others. There is a brass band, a folklore band, informal groups and a youth club in the Centre. 180-240 people, including children, teenagers and adults, participate in the classes weekly. 2) Organization of indoor and outdoor events, such as concerts, theater performances, picnics and festivals, film screenings, competitions, games and activities, local celebrations and others. The Cultural Center in Pelplin carries out international activities, youth and adult exchanges. The Cultural Center plays the role of a "community house of culture", a meeting place and social activity. Regular meetings and discussions with various circles are held, which allow for building a better cultural offer and development of the local community.
