The main objective was "Expanding the offer of adult education with the subject of sustainable development by improving the skills of trainers in this area". In accordance with the recommendations of the European Commission, the PCKK Foundation decided to prepare educational activities for seniors to broaden their knowledge about the climate crisis and sustainable development. However, in order to prepare such an educational offer, it was necessary to prepare trainers to conduct classes in this area. Knowledge of sustainability issues and critical thinking skills are not only important for knowledge alone. It is important to develop the behaviors and habits necessary for the ecological transformation. The second objective of the project was "Improvement of language competences of the PCKK Foundation staff in order to strengthen the European dimension of the organization". One of the forms of the Foundation's educational activities is the implementation of educational partnership projects. We cooperate with European organizations in the field of adult education. In order for such cooperation to be fruitful and bring results (joint activities, preparation of materials), it is necessary to constantly improve the English language.
PCKK Foundation is an organization whose main mission is to support the educational and social development of adults. The Foundation operates the Senior Competence Center, which brings together a group of several dozen people regularly participating in activities such as cognitive training, training to improve digital competence as well as lectures and workshops sensitizing participants to current problems, such as issues of protecting the Earth. CKS members not only participate in activities that improve their competences and knowledge, but also take the initiative and offer a variety of activities for the local community. Seniors are a group which in the field of education are a big "challenge" for people conducting classes for them. The educational offer must be interesting both in content and form of classes. Therefore, trainers/educators must improve themselves, enrich their work skills, deepen their knowledge in order to offer educational activities interesting in content and form for this group of students. Therefore, the PCKK Foundation implemented a project aimed at improving the competences and skills of the staff (trainers and educators), allowing for the preparation of an interesting educational offer.
