Objectives

The goals of the project "Seniors in Action" were implemented. 1. Involving the students of the Jelenia Góra Academy of the Third Age in active lifelong learning. The information about the project provided to the students of the Jelenia Góra Academy of the Third Age indicated that educational mobility abroad for active participants of the classes would be carried out. Those willing to participate in the project had to demonstrate active participation in the activities of the Foundation and, after qualifying, participate in additional preparations. Mobility was also associated with educational activities in which everyone enthusiastically participated, and after the end of the mobility actively participated in its dissemination 2. Strengthening the key competences of the students of the Jelenia Góra Academy of the Third Age (digital, social and learning competences). The qualified project participants had to strengthen their digital competences, which were necessary to prepare for participation in the mobility and during it. The mobility program assumed such activities as learning the basics of the language in the host country and joint workshop activities requiring social skills (ability to work in a group, tolerance, empathy)

Background

The Active XXI Foundation has been operating in the field of adult education for 12 years. The main recipients of its educational activities are seniors - students of the Jelenia Góra Academy of the Third Age. Lectures, lectures, workshops and trips are organized for them. They actively participate in numerous educational projects carried out by the Foundation. The goals of these activities are to activate and improve their digital, language and social competences. Over the last 10 years, the Foundation has implemented several partnership projects involving seniors from Italy, France and Spain. While implementing these projects, we noticed how important joint activities with other seniors (from partner organizations) play in activating seniors. These activities, especially Blended Mobility, were very motivating to acquire new competences (ICT, foreign language), social skills such as tolerance, teamwork, cooperation (international workshops) and had a very positive impact on the self-esteem of the participants. That is why the project "Seniors in Action" implemented by us was devoted to the continuation of such educational activities. It allowed 20 seniors to participate in educational activities in European organizations.
