We established 5 main objectives to achieve. Mainly speaking we wanted to awaken students' awareness of ecological problems not only in our region but also in different European countries. That also should lead to a better understanding of European culture. The second main goal is to improve participants' language and digital skills. More specific goals are given below. Objective 1: Raising the participants' awareness of the issue of pollution and climate change, making them explore ways of tackling the problem, and showing them examples of land reclamation. Objective 2: Better understanding and appreciation of cultures and values contribute to the common European identity and the promotion of cooperation in the spirit of respect and friendship. Objective 3: Improving the participants' language skills, making them more confident and fluent in English, and encouraging them to learn foreign languages. Objective 4.: Boosting the participants' digital skills, improving their ability to exploit the potential of ICT to access, manage and evaluate Internet resources, and to create and disseminate outputs. Objective 5: Inclusion of students with fewer opportunities in the local and mobility activities.
ZKSO Nr 1 is a Polish primary and secondary school situated in Katowice, Silesia, in the south of Poland. It is a Catholic co-ed 7-18 school. The pupils at the school are from a white Polish or mixed background. Some pupils are on the school’s special needs register, mainly due to dyslexia, auditory processing disorder, or ADHD. For many years the school has tried to implement a variety of projects connected with voluntary, charity work and the promotion of cultural and ecological issues. The experienced and dedicated staff always aim at bringing out the best in their pupils through kindness, patience, understanding, and openness, thanks to which our pupils can fulfill their true potential and become better people. This project is a kind of continuation of the previous successful Erasmus+ project undertaken by the four participating schools. We would like to build on this close cooperation to deepen our students’ understanding of environmental issues. We wanted to draw the students’ attention to the issue of pollution, which ultimately leads to climate change, as well as make them explore ways of addressing the problem, raising their awareness of the need to care about the environment.
