Objectives

The project resulted from the needs of the school - its staff and students. These needs were identified by the beneficiaries themselves through various surveys, diagnoses and internal research. Thanks to the project, we achieved the following goals: 1. We have introduced more modern and innovative educational methods with an emphasis on joint activities referring to broader, global issues - understanding processes and not just individual activities. 2. Developing key competences in students, such as: communicating in the language mother tongue, communication in foreign languages, mathematical and IT competences, learning to learn, social and civic competences, initiative and entrepreneurship, cultural awareness and expression. A series of training sessions attended by teachers concerned the development of students' key competences 3. Raising the qualifications of the staff because the school will not develop for its students if the teachers do not develop. Participation in international trainings opened horizons, gave new inspirations and motivation to work. To sum up - the school during the project was in the process of intensive development, searching for new ways of working based on motivated staff.

Background

The project was implemented among the staff of the Social School and Kindergarten Team. It is an intimate, family school located in Kudowa-Zdrój. It was established in 2006. It brings together 200 students aged 6-15, including those with special educational needs. The school is primarily focused on the well-being of the students. Through a large selection of extracurricular activities, they have the opportunity to educate themselves and develop their interests. Students are not only involved in the life of the school, they also actively work for the local environment, cooperate with non-governmental organizations, take part in campaigns charities. Since 2017, the school has been involved in Erasmus + projects focusing mainly on education global and ecology. The school is looking for new trends in education, inspired by European experiences. We train and implement assessment that shapes, activates teaching methods, and individualizes the approach to students' needs. We are in the process of looking for new ways and inspiration. Hence, training for staff was of great importance to us - it allowed for new activities to equalize the educational opportunities of our students .
