By implementing the project, we wanted to develop the social and language competences of 30 students from disadvantaged groups, increasing the chances of their self-development by enhancing creativity, entrepreneurship, teamwork skills - including in an international team - openness to innovation and functioning in the changing labor market in the country and abroad after finishing school. We wanted the school to become a place of creative development for students, where the teacher is more often a mentor who organizes the learning process, transfers knowledge and ways to master it. Among the key competences, we focused on those that are particularly important in the European perspective - in the field of foreign languages, the ability to use modern ICT technology, the ability to think creatively and solve problems, as well as personal and social skills. Listing the specific goals that we have set for implementation, the following should be distinguished: -development of social competences damaged by withdrawal from peer relationships caused by the pandemic - engaging students struggling with social exclusion in foreign mobilities -Improving communication skills in English and removing the barrier related to education system
Students of ZS No. 1 are young people aged 14 to 20 years old. Among them is the percentage of teenagers in an unfavorable economic situation resulting from coming from families with lower income. About 70% of students live in rural areas with limited access to public transport, which may result in higher school absence and, consequently, educational failures and earlier resignation from education. The students have the biggest problem with speaking in a foreign language. Young people willingly engage in all kinds of initiatives and projects, which could be observed in high interest during the recruitment process for foreign internships. The project was intended to develop competences that increase the ability of self-development by enhancing creativity, entrepreneurship, teamwork skills - including in an international team - and openness to innovation. The project implemented the foreign mobility of students and teachers, it also focused on the development of social and language competences, promoting the inclusion of young people from disadvantaged groups in international education and environment.
