Through the implementation of the project, we wanted to enable young people to improve their professional competences under the guidance of qualified employees and to prepare young people mainly from rural areas, often socially and economically excluded, with health problems, in a difficult financial situation for the requirements of the regional and European labor market, and to enable young people to gain professional experience that would facilitate functioning on the labor market. A very important aspect of the project was improving German and English and making students aware that knowing a foreign language creates additional opportunities on the labor market. A very important goal of the project was also to strengthen digital and social competences among students, i.e. openness, self-reliance, entrepreneurship, as well as self-confidence, faith in their own strengths and skills, which is clearly lacking among students of our facility. We also wanted the youth to learn about the history and culture, living and working conditions of the German society through the implementation of the project, paying attention to the role of ecology. We wanted this project to contribute to a better perception of the facility in local community
The Hight Scool of Schools of Economics and Gastronomy is in Tarnów an institution that includes the Technical School No. 3 and the 1st degree Industry School No. 3. Education in technical secondary school classes in all fields lasts 4 years (after junior high school) or 5 years (after primary school), in a trade school 3 years. During this time, students are prepared for exams confirming professional qualifications in the fields of their choice, taking into account the modern requirements of the market economy, both in economic and commercial, hotel and gastronomy issues, as well as for matura exams opening the way to further education. The vast majority, about 70% of the students of the High School of Economics and Gastronomy are commuters, living in suburban and rural areas. The leading foreign language in Technical Secondary School No. 3 is English, while in the 1st Degree Industry School, German. A group of 22 students took part in the project (from the fourth grade of a technical school and 2 graduates of a trade school), meeting the criteria developed by the school committee, for whom 21-day internship trips were organized in companies from the trade, catering, hotel and economic sectors in Hamburg.
