Gdańsk University of Technology has participated in the Erasmus programme since 1998. From the very beginning, the main objective of the university’s involvement in international mobility projects was to develop its internationalisation. * Internationalisation is one of the academic values identified by the university in the Strategy 2020-2030 as key. * The university realises that it is currently impossible to conduct high-level research and teaching activities without close cooperation with the international community. * In implementing this project, the university assumed a further increase in internationalisation through continued cooperation with European partners. Its main activities were to be student and staff exchanges. * The university wanted to enable its students to gain international experience by completing part of their studies or internships at foreign institutions. * At the same time, caring for the development of internationalisation ’at home’, the university attached great importance to hosting students from partner universities on its campus. * In order to improve the quality of the teaching services offered, the university encouraged its staff to go on training and teaching trips and invited guests from abroad to Gdansk.
