The Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences participates in a small English speaking doctoral school with two other Institutes of the Academy of Sciences. The project concerns only The Institute of Philosophy and Sociology. The aims of the current project were to promote PhD student mobility, particularly within the framework of cotutelle arrangements, in order to give access to courses, research resources, people and data collections not available in Poland. In addition staff mobility for teaching was planned to allow a researcher to give classes based on his research to PhD students in the partner institution. When fewer staff members than anticipated applied for teaching mobility, the project contract was amended to include staff mobility for training thereby allowing a teacher to train in aspects of gender studies not normally studied in Poland with a view to exploring possibility of joint curriculum development. The above staff mobility is intended to raise the international profile of our Institute.
