Participation in the project taught us how to "connect" to the social life of our villages, towns and cities, as well as how to become leaders in pro-social activities. The implementation of the project allowed us to "unleash" our potential for the benefit of ourselves, the local communities in which we live and operate on a daily basis, and our organizations. We understood what the local community is, what our role is in developing it, what space to take ambitious actions that belonging to the local community offers us, and what benefits we can gain in terms of our own development by becoming local leaders working for local communities. Thanks to our participation in the project, we have become aware of the need to take responsibility for our own fate, the fate of our families, friends, organizations and the towns in which we live (and their inhabitants). The implementation of the project allowed us to open many "doors" behind which we now find unlimited opportunities to pursue ourselves in the educational, professional, social, sports, cultural, ecological and many other fields. We have acquired knowledge, experience and competences that enable us to effectively "connect" to the local community, which results in actively influencing its functioning and development. Participating in the workshops during 8 days of youth exchange allowed us to understand: 1) what a local community is and what role it plays in our everyday lives, 2) the specificity, challenges and limitations of the local communities that we co-create, 3) mechanisms and cause-and-effect relationships that influence development of local communities, 4) a broader perspective of perceiving issues related to the local community, as well as obtain inspiration and motivation to actively engage in the life of one's own local communities and act for their benefit, meet with youth leaders and draw from their knowledge and experiences full of handfuls, acquire knowledge about "tools" and "instruments" that will enable us to effectively "connect" to the local communities in which we live, as well as how to plan and implement in practice activities for local communities, broaden our horizons, open up for diversity, develop organizational skills, communicate in English, and cooperate with people from other countries. Achievements that went beyond initial expectations included: extremely effective integration of our project group, which took place in a very short time as a result of organizing games and activities on the paintball field. This activity helped us quickly break the ice between us participants and build a "team spirit" thanks to which, on the following days of the youth exchange, we cooperated so harmoniously and effectively with each other, successfully implementing subsequent goals of our project. Cooperation with the management of the Commune Cultural Center in Wierzchosławice has also developed beyond our expectations in terms of involving the local community in our project activities and ensuring our activities' visibility in the Wierzchosławice Commune and surrounding towns (Bogumiłowice, Radłów, Niwka).
