Originally, the objectives of the project we designed, in accordance with the topic of personal development we would have dealt with within the “Unlock Your Future” Youth Exchange, were meant to put together the knowledge, skills and attitude participants would have acquired by taking part in the activities with an adequate level of commitment. These objectives had been formulated with the use of the SMART criteria: in fact we wanted them to suit all the elements included in this objective-setting method. They were meant to be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound, so as to focus on the right information when it came to monitor and evaluate the outcomes resulting from the implementation of the project and participants’ contribution to it. Therefore, we had elaborated the following objectives. Within the 12 months of the project, 24 participants in the 18-28 age group will 1. “Gain the necessary motivation and self confidence to commit to an active role in society, so as to contribute effectively to the community they live in once back home and find their own space in the public talk”: this objective was met through activities regarding mutual understanding and Nonviolent communication, as well as the outdoor one with the local community in Krakow, where participants successfully conducted themselves in embracing these techniques with empathy and openness. 2. “Learn a new approach towards themselves and the others, through non-formal education activities and meditation sessions, focused on reducing stress and anxiety while embracing a positive, self-aware and open-hearted attitude”: this objective was met through the facilitation of participants’ reflection process, with the creation of their own personal journal, activities concerning self-talk and empathic, anxiety-free listening, a cycle of three meditation sessions and a meaningful outlook on mindful eating. 3. “Learn new practices and daily routines for a better lifestyle”: this objective was met by providing participants with useful tools and methods that they enthusiastically integrated into their daily routine, like the ones contributing to an optimal assessment of life goals, namely the Pyramid technique, and those further dealing with mindfulness like the Calligraphy exercise. All these three objectives are to be considered met, or on the way to be fully met in the creation of new opportunities and new local entities for youth workers and young people living in the communities participants belong to.
