Objectives

In reporting the need for the project, participants stressed the need to combat the problem of hate speech and fake news. Most of the participants, due to their age, do not remember the period before the advent of the Internet and this is the only "world" they know. Most of the participants shared that at least once in their lives they became a victim of hate speech - in virtual and real reality. By participating, the participants wanted to learn how to distinguish between true and false information and how to reduce this phenomenon. At the same time, they wanted to gain specialized knowledge based on the experience of people who specialize in creating and preparing confirmed information - so during the project we also realized a meeting with a journalist and a fact-checker. By learning the rationale behind the phenomenon of ,,hate speech", participants were also prepared what to do in case they become a victim of this phenomenon. In addition to knowledge that will allow them to explore the phenomenon, they also received guidance from a specialist-psychologist, who led a session on how to react and deal with emotions, in case of becoming a victim of an attack. Above all, the young people participating in the project wanted to contribute to making the Internet a safe place for everyone and its original purpose - a tool for communication and connecting people. Together they said that the implementation of the project would allow them not only to gain a deeper and better understanding of the occurrence of the aforementioned phenomena, but also to prevent them, or be prepared for their possible reaction and consequences. The participants developed attitudes in themselves, characterized by openness, acceptance and tolerance - proudly displaying them in everyday life, making changes in the perception of diversity and other people's differences. The goals of the project, developed during the development of the proposal: -Expanding knowledge of the phenomena of hate speech and fake news-theoretical and practical knowledge among partner organizations and their local communities -Fighting against public incitement to violence, understood as hate speech -Exploring the phenomena of tolerance and acceptance and cultivating them among project participants -Learning participants about the phenomenon of freedom of speech -Participants will learn to distinguish between different cases of hate speech -Participants will learn techniques and ways to deal with hate -Breaking stereotypes-Cultivating a sense of diversity and cultural, religious, gender difference as a natural phenomenon in the participating countries -Cultivating intercultural skills: openness, acceptance, tolerance -Cultivating participants' emotional intelligence -Improving the level of knowledge and skills through the method of experience exchange among participants -Implementation of a social campaign on combating online hatred and fake news in the countries of the partner organizations: Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia, Turkey, Romania, Poland; -Development of soft skills
