Objectives

The project entitled 'Together in Europe' was a response to the needs of young people from Poland and Italy. These needs include the desire for a holistic understanding of the problems of the contemporary world and the desire to find common intercultural values, therefore the aim of the project was to improve the linguistic, socio-cultural, interpersonal, and ecological competencies of the participants through the implementation of joint activities. As part of the mobility, participants addressed topics related to climate protection, population migration, respect for human rights, equality, and tolerance. The young people had the opportunity to develop themselves comprehensively and, as a result, become more aware of their fellow human beings and Europeans. The main aim of the 'Together in Europe' project was to raise young people's socio-cultural and environmental awareness. The competencies acquired during the mobility strengthened their self-confidence, which will be useful when entering adult life. In addition, the young people developed their ability to think creatively, strengthened their competencies in using digital tools, and fluent communication in English. The "Together in Europe" project was a form of extracurricular education, during which young people engaged in dialogue about values that are important to young Europeans, exchanged experiences, and learned about new cultures, customs, and traditions. The active involvement of young people in the exchange contributed to their personal and social development. The project was an important opportunity for young people to broaden their horizons and better understand the world around them. The use of forms such as dialogue, debate, role plays, and simulations enabled the development of interpersonal and rhetorical skills. Young people from Poland and Italy took part in workshops about ecological lifestyles and how to take care of the planet. They learned how to create short films on social issues and took part in workshops on stereotypes and prejudices. Entrepreneurship workshops and job interview simulations prepared them to enter the European job market, they managed to break the barrier of shyness. Cultural activities and a debate on savoir-vivre allowed the young people to learn about other cultures and customs and to exchange personal experiences and reflections. The project also aimed to improve the experience of partner organizations in implementing projects dedicated to young people. The implementation of the project was an opportunity for the Foundation Centre for Local Initiatives to gain experience and expand its area of activity in the field of: - youth mobility on an international scale and youth work using extracurricular forms of education; - further cooperation with the Italian partner; - the use of a foreign language and learning about Italian culture and traditions; - existing methods of youth work; - knowledge of innovative working methods, training, and counseling activities; - the ability to manage European projects, which will translate into future activities in this area. The objective of the project was also to raise public awareness on issues related to ecology and tolerance through the implementation of activities by the participants in the mobility.
