Objectives

Based on the thoughts of young people from Greece, Italy, Lithuania and Poland, as part of our project, we explored the timeless values that are contained in various legends and myths from various parts of Europe. As a result of workshops devoted to the staging of myths and legends, based on deep reflection, workshops devoted to creative writing, creative thinking and good storytelling practices, young people in international groups developed the foundations for the legend of a united Europe. This legend referred to the key values and goals that the European Community will jointly achieve. By implementing our main goal in an effective manner, we have fulfilled the important objectives of the Erasmus+ program, including in particular: 1. Improving language competences (English will be the formal language of exchange); 2. Increasing the skills of creative and critical thinking and self-presentation, etc., 2. Developing skills related to creative writing techniques and learning about good practices in the field of storytelling as a communication tool; 3. Promoting participation in the democratic life of Europe; 4. Counteracting social exclusion and promoting social solidarity (the project involved young people with fewer opportunities, and in particular, young people from rural areas); 5. Supporting the improvement of the quality of work with youth, in particular by strengthening cooperation between organizations operating in the youth sector and other entities. The main goals of our project were to strengthen the identity, the sense of being European, building European awareness, acquiring knowledge about Europe. The method to achieve these goals was the legend of a united Europe. In the implementation of our activities, we relied on informal and non-formal learning methods, such as min. theatrical stagings, discussions, workshops based on methods of creative thinking, discussions, mini-theatrical performances, intercultural evenings, games and activities, etc. Thanks to our common working method, i.e. the legend of a united Europe, the participants received an answer to the question of what are the key values for our continent. These thoughts found their illustration in the legend of united Europe. Thus, we addressed the key expectations of our young people, for whom interesting stories with a moral are the most effective carrier of ideas.
